Molly, loved your post. We are all so lucky to have been able to come from such wonderful, caring families that put children first and foremost. As a teacher in special ed, I do not see this very often, and strive to show those students their worth and capabilities. Thanks for your wonderful thoughts, they got me thinking and thanking.
"Believe" is a pretty strong word. But I do stand by what I wrote. Not all employers are bad, and I'm idealistic enough to think that those workers who stand out in their talent/intelligence/productivity will not be abused. (Exploited, maybe, but that's when it's time to find a new job.)
Thanks for the comment. I hardly ever get them.

You seriously believe that the masses should all be equally as exploited (lower wages for unionized public sector workers to be on par with non-unionized private sector workers), so that their misery will inspire a new labor movement? You wants us all down here on the floor fighting over the scraps from the table.

Really? Without unions the 40-hour workweek wouldn't exist. It's unions that made employers be more reasonable with employees, health care benefits, overtime, etc. It's makes more sense to me (someone who is older and has been in the workforce much longer than you) to expect workers to support other workers.

Yeah, yeah. I'm too busy with my bomb@$$ job. But thanks for the compliment. I'm not very sports-savvy, so I don't know who Joe Buck is (and even a Google image search didn't help), but I'm all for calling people robots. Let's start with Mitt Romney.
